I feel very privileged to have been selected by tutors due to my use of colour to represent Manchester School of Art in the Society of Dyers and Colourists competition. I felt under a lot of pressure to tailor my project accordingly to fit in with the guidelines of the competition and to put together 4 boards and a written statement in 48 hours, but it was good experience to have to turn work around quickly both professionally and to a high standard for presentation. The day in Bradford gave me an insight in to the society and was a good platform to meet other like minded people interested in colour studying textiles. I found presenting my work to professionals outside of the university to be a confidence boosting experience, as the feedback I received was positive and this has helped to acknowledge and confirm my strengths. I will use this experience to prepare myself for the Dash and Miller presentation in a weeks time.
Feedback from Angela Ackroyd - 'A very high standard of presentation – knowledgeable , interesting , enthusiastic approach with great use of yarn.'
