Having used Scotweave heavily in my live brief for patterning, I didn't find programming for the jacquard too difficult and I think with practice and further research in to designers who use the jacquard in their work, I will gain a better knowledge of the possibilities on the jacquard loom
I found it a good experience to use industrial style equipment although at first I found it hard to get the shuttle all the way through as I wasn't use to weaving on such a wide width, but after a while I got in to a rhythm and enjoyed slowly seeing a detailed piece of fabric emerge. I like the hand drawn qualities achieved on the jacquard and this process is something that I'd like to continue working on in parallel to the ARM loom in Unit X. I would like to try other weave structures to gain more variety in the cloth and try using 2 wefts to create a double cloth, as I think this would suit my patterning although the cloth would be reduced to 30 ends per inch making it very light weight, which may suggests fabric for a Spring/Summer collection.
